our history

For more than 30 years, the Franklin Inn Motor Lodge has offered its customers a clean and friendly place to visit and enjoy a bite to eat in Huron County.

Owned over many generations, Pat and Holly Lerash are the current owners of the Franklin Inn. The couple have kept the Lerash name in the business for more than two decades all while keeping a fun and exciting atmosphere fresh in the air.

The family-owned business features 47 deluxe motel rooms, with hot tubs available in some rooms, to accompany their guests from all over the state of Michigan — and some from out of state too.

“It’s like a home away from home for us,” Nancy Kreinke, of Flint, said while checking out. “We love staying here when we go out of town because the owners keep the place looking brand new all the time. My husband can’t get enough of the buffets too.”

Inside the lodge, guests are welcomed by a clean atmosphere from the moment they walk through the doors.

Another major attraction that draws locals and out-of-towners inside includes the business’ banquet hall. The hall can be rented out for all of your special occasions. Whether those occasions be weddings, showers or other celebrations, the fun is welcomed at Franklin Inn. Seating available inside the hall is spacious and can hold up to 450 people comfortably.

Just stopping through town, but not sure where to go for something to eat? No problem. Franklin Inn comes equipped with a full restaurant all without leaving the family feeling in the air. The lodge is best known for their delicious steaks, prime rib and other tasty entrees.

“My friends and I have been coming to eat here for more than two decades,” Elizabeth Rice, of Elkton, said while enjoying a steak dinner. “It’s always been a great atmosphere inside and the staff here is very friendly.”
